Blog Supply Chain at Huijbregts Groep

Together with our customers we travel a customer journey. Basically this process works the same for every customer, but additionally we tailor our cooperation to the wishes of the customer. We divide this process into 2 phases: 1. From contact to contract; and 2. From order to delivery. In this blog we focus on phase 2, in which the Supply Chain plays a major role.

Supply Chain responsibilities
At Huijbregts Groep, the Supply Chain department is linked to the order department. Together they are responsible for all steps between order acceptance and order delivery. Because Huijbregts Groep takes over part of the production process of her customers, we see ourselves as an external department of the customer. We have information regarding planning, stocks and our production which is useful for the customer and vice versa. As a result we can safeguard the complete process together. This allows us to ensure delivery reliability for the customer in the broadest sense. In addition, this complete picture allows us to better advise on how to work more efficiently and effectively for the customer.

Working as a Stock Control Manager at Huijbregts Groep
As an employee in this department you will work in a diverse team. Therefore, you can approach a colleague from your team with the broadest of questions; which is great because every day looks different. What exactly does a Stock Control manager do at Huijbregts Groep? Very simply put, he or she ensures that all raw materials needed for our customers' mixes are and remain at the correct agreed stock level. But that's not all, you secure the agreements (about delivery and minimum stocks) that have been made, you analyze the data and optimize the stocks. You determine these stock levels together with the customer with whom you have daily contact as well as with the suppliers. However, agreements must also be implemented internally and therefore, as Stock Control Manager, you work together with various departments such as QC, order and Customer Service. Personal experience Luuk van Loenhout
Last year Luuk van Loenhout started as a Supply Chain Employee at Huijbregts Groep. Luuk is studying Supply Chain Management, but he did not know exactly what he wanted to do when he finishes his studies so he decided to work for a while before continuing his studies. What he liked about his job was that he had to be able to move quickly because of the diversity of mails, but also the customer appreciation he got as a result. "It's nice when you see the consequences of your actions, because you really see the result back”. Some questions are easy to solve, but others require more research. So it's nice to dive in it and come back with a good answer. "Don’t underestimate it," says Luuk, because it can also be challenging in this department as all customers are different and our system can also be complex. But, "once you get the hang of it, it works," and all colleagues are happy to help with that. This school year, Luuk opened his school books again. He is busy writing his thesis and we are glad he is working some hours at Huijbregts Groep in addition to that. After successfully completing his studies, he will officially start working in our Supply Chain department. Will you become his new colleague?
